Final webinar for participants of the Recovery Officers Training Program within the USAID Project " Economic Resilience Activity" according to the results of Course 3 "The experience of rebuilding cities from wars and natural disasters, the possibility of its use in Ukraine" was held on July 6, 2023.
It was extremely interesting event on which participants of the Program can aware with experience of rebuilding and recovery of cities in USA and Japan from natural disasters (“Katarina” storm in New Orleans, earthquake of 2011 in Japan) based on different types of partnerships – between municipalities, public-private partnership, private-private partnership, public-private-society partnership. These experiences have been presented by David Dodd, President, International Sustainable Resilience Center (ISRC), Inc and prof. Yu Namba, Graduate School of Economics, TOYO University.
Additionally, it was discussed situation with rebuilding Turkish cities after the 2023 earthquake. Eyüp Vural Aydin, PhD, Chairman, Istanbul PPP Center of Excellence informed participants of the event about first steps and medium-term plans in rebuilding destroyed cities.
